Denver

What immediately struck us was the surroundings and view of Denver. Very green suburbs, the Denver skyline with a couple of skyscrapers and in the background the rocky mountains. Amazing first impression.

While the surroundings are beautiful, we found downtown Denver to not be very appealing and lacking some personality. Not much live and not very walkable. Or maybe we’re just too much nature/country lovers 🤠

• Classic Eggs Benedict
• Fried stake and egg with homemade country gravy

The recommended food by the waiter was the classic eggs benedict and burritos, which you are not really hungry might be too big. So I decided to order the eggs benedict and Thomas ordered fried stake and egg with homemade country gravy. We both had hash browns with our food. The portions are very big as expected but the food was muaaaahhh 👌 We liked one of the mugs so much that we even bought one!

Lookout Mountain

After a stop at a premium outlet mall for some shopping, we headed up to “Lookout Mountain”. Although the photos don’t fully capture the beauty, we were struck by how flat the landscape around Denver appeared, despite being on the very edge of the Rocky Mountains.

Those chicken wings with the ranch sauce… 🤤 Hands down best chicken wings we‘ve ever had.

You see the pinkish layer just beneath the surface of the brisket? That‘s the smoke ring. Apparently a well defined smoke ring signifies that the meat has been smoked properly
